She initially practiced law in association with Doris Wohl, then took a worked as a Court Referee with the Lucas County Court of Domestic Relations. She was later appointed as a Magistrate, a position she kept until her retirement. Images in this folder include an online obituary published in The Blade.

These items are images from digital and paper sources that were gathered for the Toledo Women Lawyers History Project (TWLHP). The material in this folder focuses on the career of Mary Kerr Hamilton (1926-1995), who was the first woman to be elected president of the Toledo Bar Association in 1977. She initially worked for a local law firm after passing her bar exam in 1960, and joined the former Toledo Trust Company after 1969, where she rose to the position of vice-president. She also attained that position at the former First National Bank of Toledo, now the Fifth-Third Bank, retiring in 1991. Images in this folder include the Toledo Bar Association memorial, the memorial recorded at the Common Pleas Court of Lucas County, Ohio, portraits and newspaper articles.

She continued to practice at the beginning of her marriage; she is still listed as a partner with Connell in 1934, with the last name of Lanphere.
