These items are images from digital and paper sources that were gathered for the Toledo Women Lawyers History Project (TWLHP). The material in this folder focuses on the career of Justice Alice Robie Resnick. Justice Resnick was admitted to the bar in Ohio in 1964 and the Michigan bar in 1965. She was in private practice and was appointed an assistant Lucas County prosecutor in 1964. In 1970 she was admitted to practice and appeared before the United States Supreme Court. Her judicial career began in 1975 with election to the Toledo Municipal Court. In 1981 she won election as the presiding administrative judge of the Toledo Municipal Court, and was re-elected to her judicial position. In 1982 she became the first woman elected judge of the Ohio 6th District Court of Appeals and in 1988, she became the fourth woman elected to statewide office and the second woman elected to the Ohio Supreme Court. She was elected to a second term and served as Justice until her retirement in 2007. Images in this folder include portraits, newspaper articles, and documents honoring her service in the Congressional Record.

Her career history included: Vice President of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee, Senior Attorney and Interim Executive Director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, Executive Director of the National Employment Law Project, Director of Litigation at the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund, Director of the Human Rights, Peace and Social Justice Unit at the Ford Foundation and President of the Ruth Mott Foundation. Images in this folder include several memorials and articles obtained from online sources.

Shaw gained state and national acclaim for drafting the bill which created the Domestic Relations Court for Lucas County, and the code of standards for this court. In 1975 she became the first woman law clerk in the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals and became the first woman in the Civil Division of the City of Toledo's law Department in 1982. She became the first President of the Toledo Women's Bar Association in 1986, and has been an Assistant United States Attorney since 1987. In 2007 she received the First Annual Founder's Award from the Ohio Women's Bar Association. Images in this folder include portraits and the accompanying biographical information.
